Von 1989 bis heute wurden vier Generationen des RAV4 entwickelt. Urspr\u00fcnglich verfolgte Toyota mit dem RAV4 ein sehr einfaches Ziel: ein SUV mit besserem Handling und geringerer Wirtschaftlichkeit, mehr Platz und gewissen Offroad-Eigenschaften. Dabei sollten der Stil eines Gel\u00e4ndewagens und die Allradf\u00e4higkeit mit dem Komfort und dem Fahrverhalten eines Pkw kombiniert werden.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Dieses neue Konzept entsprach dem Trend der Automobilentwicklung. Nach vier Jahren Entwicklungsarbeit wurde der RAV4 offiziell eingef\u00fchrt und erzielte \u00fcberraschend gute Verkaufszahlen.
