Der Radstand wurde um 70 mm verk\u00fcrzt und durch eine kleinere Karosserie das Gewicht um mehr als 20 kg reduziert.<br>Neben der Limousinenversion wurde auch der 2-Liter-Vierventil-DOHC-Reihensechszylinder-Motor \u201cS20\u201d verbaut, in den die gesamte Technologie des Motors des Prototyp-Rennwagens \u201cNissan R380\u201d einfloss. Die Coup\u00e9-Versionen verf\u00fcgten zudem \u00fcber einen 100-Liter-Kraftstofftank, Einzelsitze ohne Verstellmechanismus und eine spartanische Innenausstattung ohne jeglichen Komfort.<br>Der GT-R erzielte im M\u00e4rz 1972 bei nationalen Tourenwagenrennen die beispiellose Zahl von 50 Siegen.
